The Citrus Family:
Fruits like Orange, Lemon, Grapes, Kiwi, and Pineapple all contain Vitamin C. If you consume less Vitamin C it hinders the process of weight loss. So your attempts of weight loss will be more successful if you consume them.
According to researchers from Arizona State University, individuals consuming sufficient amounts of vitamin C burn 30% more fat during moderate exercise than those who consume insufficient amounts. In addition, too little vitamin C in the bloodstream has been shown to correlate with increased body fat and waist measurements.
Green Tea:
Green Tea increases the metabolism of the body. It increases the amount of calories burned throughout the day for all activities, from digesting food to climbing stairs to typing.
Thus green tea perfectly complements a healthy way of life.
Dairy Foods:
Research shows that Dietary calcium causes excretion of fat through the feces. It shows that more the calcium in body less will be the fat absorption.
It was also found that the calcium effect was most pronounced when dairy calcium foods were given to people who didn’t normally have a high calcium intake and less pronounced in those who were already eating a calcium-rich diet.
So you should start drinking milk now even if you didn’t when you were young.
Fibrous food:
Fiber contains no nutrients, no calories. But eating it keeps our bowel movement in place. Not only does it make us feel full sooner and stays in our stomach longer than other substances we eat, it also slows down our rate of digestion and keeping us feeling full longer.
Due to its greater fiber content, a single serving of whole grain bread can be more filling than two servings of white bread. Fiber also moves fat through our digestive system faster so that less of it is absorbed.
Garlic:
Garlic is acknowledged as one of the most effective means of reducing fat in combination with a healthy diet and exercise program. It contains the compound allicin which has anti bacterial effects and helps reduce cholesterol and unhealthy fats.
Hot and Spicy Foods:
Adding spices to your foods like hot peppers, cayenne peppers, cinnamon, garlic, and hot mustard increases fat burning metabolism by 8-to-20% for up to 3 hours after eating spicy foods.
Dr. Henry at Oxford University proved that hot peppers can increase your fat-burning metabolism by adding just 3 grams of chili peppers to meals and a British Study showed - spicy mustard made people burn an extra 45-to-75 calories over 3 hours.
Be careful how much spicy food you eat since as too much of it may cause burning sensation in the stomach.
Apple:
Apples contain pectin which prevents body from absorbing too much fat. It also causes the body to release the fat. Pectin is also a strong appetite suppressant that keeps you satisfied for long periods of time causing you not to overeat so you won't gain weight.
And in a study done in Brazil, People who had 1 whole apple before each meal lost 33% more weight than a group of people who didn't eat apples.
Drink Plenty of Water:
Water throws out anything that is not needed like- toxins, chemicals that are not needed in the body. By doing so it helps the metabolism of the body.
Drinking at least six glasses a day will ensure that digestion is running smoothly.
This water intake will also help you feel full longer, which allows you to eat less and lose more weight. Many times our hunger is really just thirst in disguise.
All the foods mentioned will burn your fat only if you complement it with exercise and good diet. These will burn fat over a period of time, not overnight and only if you eat them consistently.
So go ahead binge… but only on these!
