Neurologic disorders affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, or a combination. These disorders include cerebral palsy (see Cerebral Palsy (CP)), seizures, and disorders that also affect other parts of the body (such as the skin or eyes), such as neurofibromatosis, tuberous sclerosis, von Hippel-Lindau disease, and Sturge-Weber syndrome.
The approach to neurologic disorders in children often differs from that in adults because the brain and nervous system are still developing.
