Akshay’s fitness mantra
Akshay Kumar’s fitness mantra is “health matters most”. In this universe life is super hectic and surrounded with stress; there is barely any time to take a deep breath. To cope with this it is important to maintain your physical fitness and find your inner balance. This applies to everyone and not only to those in the glamour industry.
Lean muscle vs bulky muscle
In the modern times, most men workout to develop six pack abs and rippling muscles. They think that being bulky makes you the alpha male and that being lean is very intimidating.
However, Akshay Kumar has a different workout philosophy. He believes that the obsession with muscle building is really unhealthy, as it may lead to a lot physical wear and tear unless an individual wants to become a wrestler. He constantly encourages the modern day youth to remain fit instead of going for muscles. According to him “Gyms are important but not a must in order to get in shape”. Even though he has a well equipped gym, he works out only to build his stamina.
- He believes in natural ways to staying fit and hence gets up early in the morning and treks or jogs or does pushups to remain fit. He loves mixing various fitness routines so that the routine does not get monotonous.
- He plays basket ball thrice a week to remain fit.
- He practices kick boxing and martial arts whenever he gets an opportunity. He believes that yoga and martial arts provides physical fitness and helps in maintaining the inner balance.
- Akshay says, “There is nothing like maintaining good health. Over the years I have tried and experimented with various techniques and routines to stay fit but my preference is toward natural therapy.”
Akshay kumar is a diehard foodie and does not follow a very strict diet regime. He feels that if you are conscious about your health and fitness, it is natural to stay away from unhealthy food.
He loves to eat homemade Indian food, dal, roti, sabzi and chicken. He eats everything in limits including the North Indian delicacies like parathas and kheer.
Akki, as he is popularly known is one of the most disciplined actors in Bollywood. He strongly believes in the adage, “Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” He wakes up at 4. 30 a.m and performs his routine exercise. He does not miss on his exercise routine even after a hectic day schedule and at times hits the gym at 2 am in the morning to exercise. He has an early lunch at 11. 30 am or by noon and dinner by 7.00 p.m.
Learning- It’s never too late to exercise. By making slight changes in your daily routine, you can also add physical activity to your hectic daily schedule. It is only a matter of dedication and discipline.
Secret of energy
He believes that each individual has inner reserves of energy that starts to drain as they grow. Exercise, martial arts and prayers helps in keeping the energy levels high.
Akshay Kumar suggests “Never take your body for granted. Use natural therapies to keep good health. The use of Reiki can also prove to be useful.”
So, all you guys out there, you can also be fit and healthy like Akshay even after 40. The secret formula for his fit and fabulous body is not to go crazy for six pack abs and rippling muscles but just follow a healthy diet and work out relentlessly.
